Happy Thanksgiving from the AB household!

Spinach and Feta Cheese

We had planned to be in New York this holiday visiting his family, watching the parade and enjoying a wedding this weekend. Sadly the east coast winter storm scared kept us home. Since we hadn’t planned to stay home we decided to enjoy an unconventional Thanksgiving feast between just the two of us. We indulged in a homemade pizza and a smoothie. Boy was it delicious! Thankfully we are still able to visit family. Despite missing out on experiencing the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade I am happy to be home and happy to not have had to brave the long drive in winter weather. And in the spirit of the holiday I would like to share a few other things I am thankful for:

One: My husband’s job. I am so thankfully that he found a good fit, that he loves it and that it treats him well and comes with a good amount of security and great benefits.

Two: Being able to eat what we want, when we want, and how we want. As much as I like to complain about food we are so lucky to have it and chose what we want to eat.

Three: Our life group. Over the past year and a half it has been great to get to know people in a similar stage of life. They have been a great support system and a source of love and compassion. They have helped us grow in our faith and deepen our knowledge of what being a Christian really means.

Four: The love, support and concern from our families. It is so nice to have been born into and to have married into such loving and support families. Words cannot express just how much they mean to us. We would be so lost without them!

Five:  My husband who loves and supports me through the very best and the very worse. I could not have dreamed of a better man. He surpasses all I ever hoped for. I really don’t know where I would be without him. I am so happy he is the one I get to spend the rest of my life with.

Six: The grace and mercy from God. We have been reading through the whole bible this year. I am so happy we have chosen to do this. Although I have believed in God my whole life, this will be the first time I have read the whole bible. It has been great to read through God’s love letter to us. It has helped to cement my faith and has given me greater understanding of the true depth of what God did for us by sending Jesus to die for our sins. Although I will never fully understand all God does it humbling to read and study His word and see glimpse of his majesty and nature.

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you have found many things to be thankful for and have found the time to enjoy those things.
