Every year I like to grow my Christmas decorations so one day I can turn my home into a Christmas wonderland. To fulfill this dream, and still have money to spend on Christmas gifts, I have decided to make some new Christmas decorations. I will be making one new Christmas decoration every week between now and Christmas and sharing it on my blog. This post is the second in this endeavor. In my first Christmas post I mentioned that I want to have a Christmas tree in every room. Since full-sized ones are not always practical I have turn to smaller versions. Here is one that I recently finished. I am so pleased with the way it turned out!

DIY Mini Christmas Tree

What you will need:
1 Large Paper Mache Cone, 10in
1 Artificial Pine Garland, 15ft
1 Red Berry Stem
9 Small Glitter Bird Picks
2 Medium Sized Bows

Step One: Secure one end of the garland to the bottom of the cone with a dab of hot glue. Then start wrapping the cone.

Step Two: When you have reached the top of the cone secure that end with another dab of glue (there should be no extra garland). Play with the garland a little bit and make sure there are no bare spots and that it looks full and even.

Step Three: Decorate your tree! I decided to decorate mine with birds and berries and top it with 2 bows. I simply tucked in my picks and berries and tied the bows on top, therefore making nothing permanent. That way I can change it up when I want to. You could use lights, beaded strings, tinsel garland, small ornaments, anything really. This is, after all, a mini version of your normal Christmas tree! Let your imagination run free!

~Most of the items can be found at Dollar Tree. The cone can be found at your local craft store.

DIY Mini Christmas Tree

I can’t wait to decorate with it! I hope I have inspired you to get creative and make up a few mini Christmas trees for your home. If you do please share them! I would love to see how they turn out!

As always, thanks for dropping by!
